GEMESYS, in collaboration with the Chair for Production Systems (LPS) at Ruhr University Bochum, is developing EMULAITE—a revolutionary approach to AI training funded by the Grüne Gründungen.NRW program. Using analog circuit emulation and memristors, EMULAITE replaces inefficient gradient-based learning, making AI training 100–1,000x more energy-efficient. This enables sustainable edge AI training and reduces the environmental impact of AI data centers. The project supports sustainable AI and aligns with NRW’s innovation strategy.
